SuperStack
the superimposed home activities in a high density city
With “SuperStack” students from the Hong Kong Polytechnic University – School of Design showcase the new concepts of quality living in the tiny home environment, including but not limited to how we anticipate the new normal of the superimposed user’s patterns of family members. Designer, trend forecasting consultant and art director of companies in the furniture and design sector, Federica Biasi is an all-round creative, who is able to understand global dynamics and contextualise them in different scenarios. Italian designer and art director, internationally recognized for her works.
After several italian experience in interior and product design, She moved for two years in the Netherlands where she focuses on nordic design and emerging trends, focusing on the aesthetic research and formal simplicity that inspires her personal style: Soft, clean, graceful, detailed. In 2015 she returned to Italy and founded Federica Biasi Studio in Milan.
Currently she works as art director and product designer for many different brand and companies focusing the research and forecasting of international trends: colors, materials and finishes, with particular attention to the functionality and shape always finding a perfect balance with the know-how of every company she works with and her sign.
From 2016 she is been teaching and lecturing in IED Milano and Marangoni in product design courses and Masters.
In January 2018 has been nominated by the master Andrea Branzi, and awarded in Paris, during Maison&Objet as one of 6 Italian Rising Talent of contemporaneity.
Federica is a 360 ° designer, she works with companies all over the world, her philosophy is based on a clean aesthetic approach: nothing is left to chance, every detail has a specific aim both it is a product and artistic direction. Now Biasi works among others with Italian, dutch, and swiss companies such as Lema, Nestlè, Gallotti&Radice, CC-tapis, Fratelli Guzzini, Frigerio, Mingardo, Manerba, Nason Moretti

PolyU Design has been an important hub of design education and research for Hong Kong since 1964. Famous designers who graduated from PolyU Design include Raman Hui (Animation), Freeman Lau (Branding and Art), Vivienne Tam (Fashion), Eric Chan (Product), Anthony Lo (Automotive), Yip Kam-tim (Film), Dennis Chan (Jewelry), among others. The School is actively engaged in applied research and consultancy support for industry throughout Asia.
Research is currently organised under three initiatives of interest: Design Social for innovation in the development of new processes, systems, networked and relational outcomes; Design Economies for consumer-centric approach to design business innovation; and Design Making for collaborative design to provide solutions to niche markets. The School provides a well-equipped teaching and learning environment in the Jockey Club Innovation Tower, a landmark building designed by the late Zaha Hadid.
